AGE of Empires 3: Definitive Edition is launching this week, and Microsoft has announced its full release schedule for the hit title.
Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition is a solid case of how to improve and reskin an incredible game for experienced and new players. At whatever point a game is brought back, there must be a real motivation to buy it once more. Time of Empires 3 was at that point an extraordinary game and this conclusive form doesn't include an amazing measure of substance, yet the improvement to UIs, menus, fixes, and refreshed designs compensate for that. It may not be wonderful to such an extent that the individuals who effectively own it have to buy it once more, however ardent fans and newcomers can appreciate a fantastic form of this game.
IS AGE OF EMPIRES II better than III:
The first is that when you download a game you are downloading a highly compressed and optimized package to save on download time and server bandwidth for the game publisher. A very powerful computer spends time finding the most efficient way to pack the files and compress them. This is so complicated it can’t be done on the fly, or at least not efficiently. Once these are uncompressed and installed the files could be twice as big. The game can’t run swiftly and efficiently if the files stayed compressed. Many game assets are stored in a particular way to make loading them fast and easy.
The second major contribution, (and sometimes the bigger contribution), to the size of a game is online updates. Most AAA games today even after the initial install will still do “updates” on the first launch and check for new updates each time you launch the game. These updates may be to fix bugs in that initial version you downloaded or may even add new features and functions to the game that weren’t around on day one. Games these days (especially multiplayer games) often also have in game “events” that may change weekly or monthly and require downloads to install them locally.
And third, which is not typical, but still encountered in some games - the game may optimize and recompile or cache its resources for better gaming experience.
Often the initial installation files won’t change significantly from the first day because of the logistics of patching the games. Each patch alters files and then later patches may alter them again. By installing all patches in sequence you know that everyone's game client is identical because even your patch process could have a bug and thus everyone will get the same bug. While it might seem like they could just update the initial download the logistics of that actually make it easier to just install all the patches. You will sometimes see improved versions of games offered which include past patches but these are often sold separately and downloaded separately under such monikers like GOTY (Game of the Year) or “Enhanced” editions with some added visual and quality of life improvements.
Age of Empires 3 is a real-time strategy game that sends players into different parts of history and classic historic battles with real and fake characters and heroes. The game has a plethora of different civilizations that have unique units, unique abilities, and great aesthetics. Two new civilizations were added for the definitive edition. The campaigns are a little short. However, there are multiple stories and various historic battles that you can play through, so much so that most people will have a hard time getting through all the content under 20 or 30 hours. With online multiplayer and other skirmishes that can be set up, players can expect many hours of great gameplay outside the main campaign.
